As I watched our little guy Hudson with his cousins roasting s’mores around the fire pit, my husband racing across the badminton field, and Harper giggling in her Papa’s arms I was reminded that this is what life is all about! This is what truly brings my family joy and memories we’ll never forget. ALL THE DETAILS

Now, let’s talk ALL 👏THE 👏 DETAILS 👏Between Pinterest and Instagram I know party planning can start to feel a little overwhelming so I really wanted to “lei” out all the steps and supplies in this post for you because I want YOU to feel confident, it’s seriously so simple and easy! Below I am going to walk you through everything I did for our celebration! Keep in mind that you can do as little or as much as you want to! Truth be told, some months I might not do everything I am going to talk about below. Some months it might just be something super small at our Texas home! But once I let you in on all the little details you’re going to be so surprised at how easy pulling off this celebration really was!

The Decor

For our decor we used all of our July celebration circle printables along with tiki torches https://amzn.to/2KPhFua, blow up palm trees https://amzn.to/2XBVbne and a balloon arch https://amzn.to/2KN3wgW.  That was it.  We did it in my in-laws backyard so half the decor was just the beautiful natural outdoor  scenery. 

Y’all let’s talk balloon arches, I know you’re all wondering…
Please please please do not be intimidated about creating your own balloon arch.  From start to finish it literally took me 1.5 hours and was a BREEZE!  No exaggeration! I used this balloon arch kit (https://amzn.to/2KN3wgW) and just standard balloons from my local party store (with a coupon!).  I used an electric balloon pump to fill up all balloon in less than an hour https://amzn.to/2RICkRb. For a full arch you need 200 balloons BUT it’s adjustable so you can totally make it smaller.  I used 120 balloons and made mine quite a bit smaller. I recommend using 4 different colors so I used 30 of each color: orange, pink, white, and yellow. Perfect luau colors!

The Food

If you know anything about me you know food is one of my love languages, so when I plan a party you can bet all of my food is as “punny” and relevant as possible!  I used my food tent cards for the following:

• Kalua Pork (because if you don’t have Kalua pork is it really a hawaiian party?!)
• Hawaiian Sweet Rolls 
• Mango Salsa & Tortilla Steps (for a cute set up see photos!)
• Fruit Tray (for a cute set up see photos!)
• Tropical Macaroni Salad
• Potato Salad
• Pineapple upside down cakes
• Sugar Cookies
• Pineapple Punch
• Chips

**Hadley Hack: When it comes to parties with extended family I assign one dish to each family to help share the load and it really takes the stress off.

But, I do have two recipes I absolutely have to share, these were a HIT and my whole family asked again and again how I made them!  And the best part is they are SO easy to make and you can send your family home with one of our printable recipe cards (hyperlink).

Dole Whip (Knock off! And it’s dairy free!!)

• 1 pineapple cut into chunks and frozen the night before
• 1-2 Cups Almond Milk 
• 2-3 Tbl Local Honey

Mix all the ingredients in your blender adding additional liquid as needed.  I waited and pulled these out near the very end when everyone was just hanging out and had finished eating so they didn’t just sit and melt!  They were a fan favorite! 

Pineapple Punch (Recipe credit to: TripBeauty.com)

• 1 Cup Countrytime Lemonade Mix
• 3 Cups Cold Water
• 1 Can Pineapple Juice
• 2 Cans Sprite
• Throw some cut up lemons on top for looks!

*I ended up having extra sprite and pineapple juice so I just dumped it in.  I’m pretty sure the proportions don’t matter because it ended up delicious!

The Entertainment

We kept this simple focusing on music and some outdoor games.  Nothing too crazy! We used several games we already had and utilized the fire pit in my in laws backyard.

We loved having backyard games to keep the kids engaged.  Between that and the food we had, our family was entertained for hours! (I even got to relax for a bit, win-win!)

I kept our favors nice and simple, I just utilized our s’mores supplies for our sweet treat favors along with leis because if you don’t giveaway leis did you really have a luau?! The answer is no, if you were wondering!
